Metrax myPAD - Your personal lifesaver

Developed in Germany and manufactured to the highest quality standards – myPAD combines state-of-the-art technology with intuitive usability.

Your myPAD represents the next generation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for personal use. Specifically designed for mobile use, it impresses with its compact design and ease of operation. It also assists with chest compressions – even when an electric shock is not required.

Ready for use anywhere and at any time:

What good is a defibrillator if it's not available within 5 minutes in an emergency?

What happens if a defibrillator fails to work in an emergency?

No compromises: myPAD is your solution!

It is extremely compact (15 cm × 15 cm × 7.5 cm) and can be placed almost anywhere – in your car's glove compartment, in your shopping bag, in your bicycle basket – wherever you want.

You can use myPAD with both children and adults, in adverse weather conditions (IP66) and anywhere the unpredictable can happen.

myPAD monitors and controls itself independently and informs you or MedX5 about any problems.

Wirelessly, via WLAN, LTE or Bluetooth (optional), it is ensured that a defective device can be detected, reported and an immediate response can be obtained.

The battery and electrodes have the same lifespan. A rechargeable battery is available upon request.

Requirements:

myPAD defibrillators can be used easily even by untrained individuals. No further requirements need to be met for private use.

If you make the myPAD available to other people, the Medical Devices Operator Ordinance (MPBetreibV), which is only valid in Germany, applies to you. myPAD already meets the significantly stricter requirements that will become mandatory from 2027.

In addition to free online training, we offer paid live online training (CO2-neutral) or on-site training.

1

In which areas of life do most victims of sudden cardiac death occur?

84% of sudden cardiac deaths (SCDs) occur at home or during leisure time. This is followed by workplaces, public areas, and sports venues. This statistic demonstrates how important a defibrillator is in private settings, too.

2

I am healthy, vital, exercise, eat healthily and have no addiction potential such as alcohol, smoking, etc. – am I still at risk?

Yes, it can happen to you too. A healthy lifestyle doesn't protect you from sudden cardiac death. Hidden pre-existing conditions can become life-threatening unexpectedly and without warning.

3

What does a survived heart attack, cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure or diabetes mean for me?

Such pre-existing conditions increase the risk of sudden cardiac death. Therefore, it's important to have a defibrillator nearby, ideally right in your home. The HeartSave myPAD can be life-saving in such situations.

4

Why can't my doctor prescribe me a home defibrillator? I'm already on medication!

In rare cases, health insurance companies will cover the cost of a home defibrillator. It's advisable to check with your doctor and insurance company directly to see if coverage is possible in your case.

5

Is it dangerous to have a defibrillator at home? Can I even use it?

Don't worry, using a defibrillator is very simple. Turn the device on and follow the spoken instructions. The HeartSave myPAD automatically analyzes whether an electric shock is necessary. The defibrillator doesn't make incorrect decisions—it only delivers a shock when absolutely necessary.

6

Can I be prosecuted if I do something wrong when performing CPR or using a defibrillator?

No! Not helping is the biggest mistake. If a defibrillator is available, use it! Perform CPR as best as you can. If you're experienced, give two rescue breaths after 30 chest compressions. If you're inexperienced, just keep pushing. It's important to compress the chest about 5 to 6 cm in the middle and then release. Push about 100 to 120 times per minute. Have someone relieve you if the effort becomes too great to continue CPR effectively.

7

How do I recognize sudden cardiac death?

Typical signs include unconsciousness and no or unhealthy breathing (gasping). If the person doesn't respond to touch or shouting, you must act immediately: Call 112, begin CPR immediately, and—if available—use a defibrillator. Every second counts!

8

Can a defibrillator be used on everyone or are there restrictions?

A defibrillator can generally be used on anyone suffering from sudden cardiac death. There are no restrictions, as the device reliably and automatically checks whether a shock is necessary. There's no risk of doing anything wrong. Many schools teach the use of defibrillators at an early age, so even children and young people can use them in an emergency.

9

How often should I have the defibrillator serviced or checked?

Modern defibrillators like the HeartSave myPAD perform automatic self-tests. You should still check the battery and electrodes regularly. Read the user manual to ensure your device is ready for use.

10

Why should everyone have a defibrillator at home?

Sudden cardiac death can affect anyone – regardless of age or health condition. In such emergencies, every second counts. A defibrillator at home can save lives by significantly increasing the chances of survival. It's especially important in households with high-risk individuals, such as those with heart disease. It's an investment that can make all the difference in an emergency.
